Put America First
Realizing that Congress has been working from the wrong view of human nature gives us the power to reverse our social problems. However, contrary to the popular cliché, knowledge is not power. Much like stored energy, knowledge is only power in potential. We must use our new knowledge and use it correctly for it to benefit America.
Assuming that we are resolute in applying correctly what we now know, our new understanding of human nature can literally save our nation. Yet, putting what we know into practice will take courage. At every turn we will be tempted individually and collectively to ignore what we have discovered. Like a devil on the shoulder, special interests will forever tempt us to trade short-term benefits for what is good for America.
Minority groups of all shapes and sizes, labor unions, big business,
religious sects, and foreign interests will make convincing arguments that we
should accommodate their needs. Yet, if we are committed to fix our social
problems, we must put America before and above any and all special interests. If we truly intend to turn America away from the cliff, we must cater to only one special interest — the long-term health and longevity of America.
Nothing in nature stays the same. Every day our nation becomes stronger or weaker. Therefore, if we are to save America from self-destruction, we must work to make it stronger every day. It follows that if citizens do not work to make America stronger, they are by default working against America.

This notion is sure to make some people uncomfortable. However, the logic is inescapable. To be pro-America, citizens have to work to make America stronger. Any effort short of working to make America stronger pits citizens squarely against our nation.
Adding to the commitment of being dedicated to a stronger America (requiring citizens to work at it every day) is the want for other admirable goals such as to improve the human condition (humanism), to assist struggling nations (internationalism), to unite the world into one friendly and cooperative neighborhood (globalism), and even to save souls (spiritualism).
Most people believe they can have multiple loyalties — that they can ease the suffering of others, elevate nations, transform the world, and save souls while remaining pro-America. Although some goals are compatible, some are conflicting. When goals are conflicting, we are faced with a choice. We must choose our primary loyalty.
To illustrate the difference between cooperating and competing goals, consider the following examples. A man can achieve the goals "to go fishing" and "to be on a boat" simultaneously because these goals are not necessarily conflicting. In contrast, a man cannot be a sumo wrestler and a ballet dancer concurrently, regardless of how much he might try or wish that he could.
Much like being faced with several potential romantic partners or career paths, we must make a choice between America and the betterment of other nations (and people). Though America should extend its reach when it can, citizens must be careful not to shortchange America in the process.
Like dating two women concurrently or pursuing multiple careers, there are situations and conditions in which we cannot be equally loyal to America and another goal.
For example, to improve the condition of the Mexican people, we might be tempted to advocate a borderless country. However, to do so would be an anti-America policy on its face because America would experience a host of problems from maintaining an open border. Instead, we might offer to work with the Mexican government, teaching it how to help its people. In doing so, we would achieve our primary objective of making America stronger while helping the people of another nation.
As we can see by this example, goals can be conflicting or cooperating depending on the way help is administered. To insure simultaneous goals are cooperating rather than conflicting begins with choosing our primary loyalty.
We must choose our primary loyalty and then prioritize the others. We must decide if we are first a loyalist, a humanitarian, an internationalist, a globalist, or a savior of souls.
We must take a stand — America first or some other nation or cause. Because we can have only one first loyalty, anyone who is not loyal to America first is by definition against all of us.
