The following "plank" in the platform is not an empty feel-good statement. It is a promise founded on (a) a new understanding of human nature and (b) an unwavering commitment to restore, fortify and preserve America. Naturally, it is based on one very big assumption — that Patriots gain control of Congress. Although we guarantee results, you must vote for Patriots to turn aspirations into reality.
Unite the Nation
We will advocate one American culture by supporting policies and programs that unite us while rejecting or retooling those that don't. Advocating (a) English only and (b) "assimilation over diversity" will result in a one-class society with one set of goals and solutions to our shared social problems.
Suggested policy measures...
Although the following policy measures are strongly recommended, it is the job of Congress to work out the details regarding their implementation. Sending Patriots
to Congress will insure that special interests will not come before America.
We will remove the obstacles that divide us.
We will advocate the concept of the "American Stew" over diversity. Rather than encourage diversity training, we will stress the importance for minority groups to assimilate.
We will narrow the gap between ethnicities by citing America first when differentiating people according to the origin of their ancestors. After all, we are all Americans of some decent.
We will establish a national definition of racism, so we can be free to discuss racially sensitive issues without fear of being unfairly labeled a "racist." We will promote the following national definition of racism:
"Racism is the belief that human beings of different races have different intrinsic values."
Note: Any statement indicating some difference other than "intrinsic value" is not racism.
Understanding the definition of racism is liberating. Any opinion or expression not espousing a difference in "intrinsic value" cannot be racist by definition. Without the notion of "intrinsic value," an opinion or expression certainly may be biased, bigoted, prejudiced, discriminatory, hurtful, insensitive, stupid, cruel, unjustified, and based on falacious reasoning of some sort. However, it would not be "racist."
Beyond "identical value as human beings," all ethnicities have different characteristics. Therefore, to have an opinion on the supposed differences between races or ethnicities is not racism. Even expressing a preference or dislike for one or more supposed characteristics is not racism.
Note: The Patriot Party® believes all people have an identical intrinsic value as human beings, regardless of their race or ethnicity.
We will establish English as America's official language.
The Patriot Party believes in the American Dream. It also believes that people of all ethnicities are equally valuable as human beings. Because the way to true success in America is through mastering English, we need to redouble our efforts to insure that legal immigrants learn the one universal language adopted by Europe and even the United Nations. In addition, those who already speak English should focus on speaking and writing it better. If there is time in the high school curriculum for more study, it should be focused on english, mathematics, and the many sciences.
The argument that learning a foreign language develops the brain is weak. Studying mathematics, science, and creative writing (in English) equally develops the brain while making us more competitive in the world.
Establishing a national language will help unite the country.
We will establish English as the official language of America because America was founded on English, because most people in America speak English, because the United Nations has adopted English as its official language, and because people from around the world are learning to speak English.
As such, we will eliminate foreign language requirements in publicly funded high schools, colleges, and universities.
We will terminate federal funding of all foreign language courses taught in public high schools, colleges, universities, and any other publicly funded institutions.
We will replace foreign language courses with courses that help students master English, mathematics, and science.
We will reassign bilingual teachers to teach immigrants how to speak English.
Anyone that comes to America does so by choice. They should have the humility to learn at least one sentence in English. "For instructions in a foreign language, press nine." (After all, we all know what "Parlez-vous français?" means.)
Adopting such a policy will send a statement to all that we are proud of our one American culture and that we intend to protect it. This practice should be widely adopted because it maintains the posture of accommodating those that have yet to learn our language. Businesses that will not adopt this policy voluntarily should be viewed as being indifferent to protecting America.
Although corporations will always have the protected right to conduct business to their satisfaction, they should be reminded that to accommodate Spanish may be good for business, but it is dividing America and hindering our efforts to lead the world in academic performance. The Patriot Party will call those who choose to divide America and hinder progress what they are — Pirates!
We will accentuate the similarities between the races rather than focus on their differences.
We will advocate a new system for identifying the origin of our ancestors. The new system is based on the following formula: American of (country of ancestors) decent. To illustrate, a person currently referred to as"African-American" would henceforth be referred to as an "American of African decent."
We will advocate not using the labels "black" and "white." Neither label is correct. All people of all ethnicities are a shade of brown. We differ only in the amount of "melanin" (pigment) in our skin. Simply referring to people as being of some decent serves us better by helping to unite us as one people. To illustrate, rather than say, "He is black," we will advocate saying, "He is of African decent."
We will eliminate programs that treat Americans differently.
"Black History Month" should become "American History Month," so one ethnicity is not forcibly featured above all others. Various ethnic groups (such as Americans of African decent and Natives of North America) can be featured, but as a subset of our one American culture.
Race based assistance programs such as "Affirmative Action" should be re-commissioned as "Career Training," targeting poor unskilled Americans. In this way, we will transform "Affirmative Action" so it serves people of all ethnicities who are economically disadvantaged, rather than discriminate on the basis of ethnicity.
